1.0: Introduction of the Zippo Arc

 

Product: Zippo Arc Lighter (Electric Series) 

 

Background:

 

Zippo lighters are made with American-sourced steel in the United States, and every part of it is sourced 100% from America. Their original lighters, all fueled, originally required Zippo fuel as well.

 

In comparison to the Zippo Arc Lighter, the reasons for being manufactured and pushed alongside fuel lighters was due to the founder of Zippo.

 

George G. Blaisdell, the founder of the Zippo Lighter Company, had developed an interest in only making revolutionary “windproof” lighters. These would be able to be refueled, and making starting a flame much easier than older rope lighters or flint & steel. Later seeing the success arise from the windproof lighter, he applied the same level of ingenuity by differing fuel sources in order to attract different customers. Efficiency is a key characteristic of lighters, and some customers simply prefer using fuels. Other customers enjoy using a rechargeable battery.

 

The Electric Zippo Lighter Arc was made to satisfy those who enjoyed having a rechargeable lighter insert for any Zippo lighter case they believed would satisfy them. 

This includes regular finishes and customs. 

 

The Zippo lighter’s customizability to most customers that appeal to their direction and taste in keeping a handy lighter that will last them for a very, very long time. 

 

2.0:  Outlined Body of the Zippo Arc (Pt. 1)

 

The Zippo Arc’s body is composed of a 100% U.S.-Sourced steel body, meanwhile the interior of the lighter has many more characteristics within the interior that holds the battery, plasma rods, and micro-USB port for charging. 

 

The interior characteristics hold a 200 mAh battery, which will be further discussed within the battery’s standardization and requirements on Part 2. The Zippo Arc Lighter holds a composite list of characteristic features for performance and why it was created. 

 

The characteristics are the following, simply:

 

• All-steel body sourced from the U.S.
• Rechargeable electric lighter for consumers.
• Up to 1 hour of Charge
• Internal battery with a USB port
• Electric version of the

3.0: Outlined Body of the Zippo Arc (Pt. 2)

 

The main composite material of the Zippo Arc is 100% stainless U.S.-Sourced steel. However, the inside components are slightly more complex.

 

Through the specific technology characteristics of the Zippo Arc Lighter, its insert components are composed of an International Electrotechnical Commission approved battery that can hold up to 200mAh of power. The power of this type of portable battery is standardized to provide approximately 10 hours of regulated use within a full 1 hour charge (Staff 2018).

 

The main interior function of this Zippo Arc is supplied through the plasma-arc rods built into the insert. They are connected to the 200 mAh battery in order to provide an electric flame/spark for your lighting needs. Particularly, this means it can be used to combust certain types of substances, however as it stems from the U.S. Military roots of Zippo, the electric Zippo Arc can be used as well being a rechargeable firestarter for starting fires (Staff 2018).

 

4.0: Conclusion

 

Although an extremely simple instrument for combusting flammable material and being able to make fire, the Zippo has been one of the strongest technological methods of communication since the early days of mankind. 

 

The Zippo Lighter Company focused on American-sourced materials and labor due to the tradition revolving around their brand. 

 

Lighting campfires since early days of mankind was a primitive practice meant to symbolize warmth, the end of a long day, and a point in which people may gather around to tell stories or have benevolent conversation. American military soldiers heavily relied on this since the early days of the great Civil War, which was known as the greatest war in American history that could have had terrible effects. 

 

I personally liked choosing this topic due to the simplicity and interest that is aroused under the Zippo lighter. Its physical body is so simple and sleek, yet holds so much more power through what a spark is within it. Our political environment, which is an anomaly within itself, does not discuss companies such as Zippo enough for their dedication to wanting to stay in a country and produce everything 100% near where they manufacture a quality-product for decades.
